Hidro Boost® AutoSmart®+ Cold Water Booster Set
Automatic Clean-Water Pressure Boosting | Eight Models | 230V and 400V
The Hidro Boost AutoSmart+ clean water booster set is a compact, automatic solution for improving water pressure and flow where an existing clean-water supply cannot meet the demands of the building or system.
Each AutoSmart+ booster set combines a high-performance stainless-steel multistage pump with a Smart10 electronic pressure controller, a 24-litre pressure vessel, dry-run protection and a non-return valve on the discharge. The result is a dependable, pre-engineered water pressure booster pump set suitable for residential, commercial, leisure and selected light-industrial applications.
Available in eight single-phase and three-phase configurations, the range provides performance of up to 5.2 bar or up to 158 litres per minute — approximately 9.5 m³/h — depending on the model and operating point. The Hidro Boost AutoSmart+ range is designed and assembled in the UK.

Reliable Automatic Clean Water Pressure Boosting
Low or inconsistent water pressure can affect taps, showers, washrooms, appliances and process equipment throughout a property. The Hidro Boost AutoSmart+ provides an automatic boost whenever water is required, helping the system deliver a more dependable supply at the required outlets.
Rather than supplying separate pumps, controllers, vessels and valves that must be matched on site, the AutoSmart+ is supplied as an integrated clean water booster set. Its compact packaged design simplifies product selection and installation while ensuring that the principal components are designed to work together.
The range uses stainless-steel P3S or P7S horizontal multistage pumps. The pump body and impellers are manufactured from AISI 304 stainless steel, providing a robust clean-water pumping solution for domestic and commercial environments.

Key Features and Benefits
Automatic Start and Stop
The Smart10 electronic pressure switch monitors system demand and starts the pump when pressure falls as an outlet is opened. Once demand stops and system pressure recovers, the controller automatically stops the pump.
Adjustable Pressure Setting
The operating pressure can be adjusted during commissioning to suit the selected model and installation requirements.
Built-In Dry-Run Protection
Dry-run protection helps protect the pump if the available water supply is interrupted or inadequate, reducing the risk of damage caused by running without water.
24-Litre Pressure Vessel
The supplied pressure vessel provides a useful stored volume of pressurised water, helps stabilise operation and reduces unnecessary rapid starting and stopping during small or intermittent demands.
Stainless-Steel Multistage Pump
The pump body and impellers are manufactured from AISI 304 stainless steel, making the AutoSmart+ a durable choice for clean cold-water pressure boosting.
WRAS-Approved Components
The set is engineered using WRAS-approved components. The manufacturer identifies the pump and materials as WRAS approved, together with the EPDM membrane used in the 24-litre pressure vessel.
230V and 400V Models
Choose from 230V single-phase versions for standard electrical supplies or 400V three-phase versions for suitable commercial and industrial installations.
Integrated Discharge Non-Return Valve
A non-return valve is fitted on the pump discharge to help retain system pressure and prevent reverse flow through the booster pump.
Compact, Pre-Engineered Package
The pump, controller, vessel and fixed pipework are assembled into a single coordinated package, reducing the need to select and assemble the principal components individually.
Designed and Assembled in the UK
The Hidro Boost AutoSmart+ range is designed and assembled in the United Kingdom.

How Does the AutoSmart+ Booster Set Work?
When a tap, shower, valve or other outlet is opened, pressure within the system falls. The Smart10 electronic pressure controller detects this pressure reduction and automatically starts the booster pump.
The pump then supplies water according to the system demand and its operating curve. When the outlet is closed, demand ceases and the pressure recovers, allowing the Smart10 controller to stop the pump automatically.
The 24-litre pressure vessel stores a limited amount of pressurised water. This can satisfy very small demands without immediately starting the motor and helps reduce excessive short cycling.
Is AutoSmart+ a Constant-Pressure Booster Set?
The standard AutoSmart+ is an automatic fixed-speed booster set. It starts and stops according to demand, but its delivered pressure will still vary as the flow rate changes.
For installations requiring near-constant pressure across widely varying demand, a variable-speed booster set should be considered. Henry Pumps markets a separate AutoSmart+VSD range for this type of application.
What Is Included?
Each Hidro Boost AutoSmart+ package includes:
- Stainless-steel horizontal multistage pump
- Smart10 electronic pressure controller
- 24-litre pressure vessel with WRAS-approved EPDM membrane
- Fixed connecting pipework
- Discharge non-return valve
- Automatic start-and-stop functionality
- Dry-run protection

Final plumbing connections, electrical protection, isolating valves and any break tank or storage vessel required for the installation should be specified separately.
Which Hidro Boost AutoSmart+ Model Do I Need?
The eight-model range is divided into four performance curves. Each curve is available in either 230V single-phase or 400V three-phase.
| Performance curve | Pump family | General duty |
|---|---|---|
| Curve A | P3S-70/3 | Lower-pressure, lower-demand duties |
| Curve B | P3S-90/4 | Medium-pressure duties |
| Curve C | P3S-100/5 | Higher-pressure duties within the P3S range |
| Curve D | P7S-180/4 | Higher-flow residential and commercial duties |
This is only an initial guide. Final selection must consider the required flow, pressure at the outlet, available inlet conditions, vertical elevation, pipe diameter, pipe length and system losses.
Understanding the Model Codes
- M models: 230V single-phase
- T models: 400V three-phase
- P3S models: 1-inch fixed pipework
- P7S models: Larger 1¼-inch fixed pipework for increased flow capacity

Installation and Water Regulations
The AutoSmart+ must be selected and installed by a competent person familiar with cold-water boosting systems. The installer should confirm:
- Required simultaneous flow
- Required residual pressure at the furthest or highest outlet
- Available inlet pressure or stored-water level
- Vertical elevation
- Pipe length, diameter and fittings
- Adequate water availability at the pump inlet
- Correct vessel pre-charge
- Suitable electrical supply and motor protection
- Isolation and drainage provisions
- Applicable backflow-prevention requirements
- Local water-company requirements
Why Correct Booster Set Sizing Matters
Selecting a cold water booster set is not simply a matter of choosing the model with the highest pressure figure.
The required duty is the combination of flow and pressure that must be delivered at the same time. A system may also lose significant pressure through vertical lift, narrow pipework, long pipe runs, valves, fittings, filters and simultaneous outlet use.
For accurate selection, provide Henry Pumps with:
- Required flow in litres per minute
- Required pressure in bar
- Number and type of outlets
- Number of outlets likely to operate simultaneously
- Height from the water source to the highest outlet
- Pipe diameter and approximate pipe length
- Details of the water source or break tank
- Available electrical supply
- Any requirement for constant pressure or standby capacity
Henry Pumps will then match the requirement to the correct AutoSmart+ performance curve rather than recommending a model from maximum figures alone.
