ME Series F555 Industrial Wash Water Hose Reel Kit – 20m x 19mm
Heavy-Duty Spring-Rewind Water Hose Reel, Trigger Gun, Feeder Hose and Isolation Valve
The ME Series F555 Industrial Wash Water Hose Reel Kit provides a robust, permanently available washdown point for water treatment sites, utility premises, factories, workshops, maintenance depots and other demanding commercial environments.
Rather than supplying a bare reel that must be matched with separate hose, fittings and a spray gun, this coordinated package includes an F555 spring-retractable steel hose reel, 20 metres of 19mm internal-diameter water hose, a heavy-duty trigger-operated water gun, feeder hose, swivel inlet arrangement and an isolation ball valve.
Once securely mounted and connected to a suitable wash water supply, the kit keeps the hose stored neatly away from floors and walkways when it is not in use. This helps reduce trip hazards, prevents unnecessary damage to the hose and makes washdown equipment quicker and easier to access.
The complete assembly has a published working pressure of 20 bar - approximately 300 psi - and a fitted weight of approximately 50kg.

A Complete Industrial Washdown Package
The standard F555 kit is supplied as more than a hose reel and loose length of hose.
The principal components have been combined to provide a practical washdown package consisting of:
| Included component | Function |
|---|---|
| ME Series F555 hose reel | Stores and automatically rewinds the hose |
| 20m × 19mm water hose | Provides a useful working radius and large-bore water path |
| Heavy-duty trigger water gun | Allows the operator to control water flow at the point of use |
| Feeder hose assembly | Connects the fixed water supply to the rotating reel fluid path |
| Isolation ball valve | Allows the incoming water supply to be shut off locally |
| Swivel inlet arrangement | Transfers water into the reel while allowing the drum to rotate |
The original wash water kit includes a spring-driven ME reel fitted with 20 metres of 19mm hose terminating in a heavy-duty blue water gun. The feeder hose incorporates a ball valve for incoming water isolation.
Site-Specific Items
Depending on the installation, the following may also be required:
- Structural mounting bolts or anchors
- Incoming water pipework
- Pressure regulation
- Appropriate backflow protection
- Drainage or drain-down valve
- Pipe supports
- Additional isolation
- Weather or frost protection
These should be selected according to the mounting structure, water source, site contamination risk and environmental conditions.
Automatic Spring-Rewind Operation
The F555 uses a spring-driven rewind system to automatically recover the hose after use.
The operator pulls out the length required for the washdown task. Once work is complete, the hose should be guided back towards the reel under control while the internal spring rewinds it onto the drum.
This avoids the need to manually coil 20 metres of large-bore hose after every use and helps keep the working area organised.
The underlying F555 reel is described as a heavy-duty, large-capacity spring-retractable reel with a steel frame, enclosed drive spring and reinforced construction intended to resist distortion under regular use. It can be installed in wall, floor or ceiling-mounted arrangements where the structure and hose-pull direction are suitable.
The hose must always be controlled during retraction. It should not be released and allowed to rewind freely.
Helps Keep Washdown Areas Safer and More Organised
Loose water hoses can create several avoidable problems:
- Trip hazards across floors and walkways
- Damage caused by vehicles, machinery or foot traffic
- Kinks that restrict water flow
- Premature hose wear
- Untidy working areas
- Delays caused by untangling and recoiling hose
- Leaks caused by damaged hose or fittings
An automatic hose reel keeps the majority of the hose stored off the floor and allows the user to deploy only the length needed for the task.
Increased safety, improved efficiency and reduced leaks as the main benefits of using hose reels, while the F555 assembly can reduce hose damage and associated trip risks.
19mm Large-Bore Water Hose
The kit incorporates 20 metres of 19mm internal-diameter hose, equivalent to approximately ¾ inch.
The relatively large hose bore makes the system suitable for industrial washdown duties where a useful volume of water is required over a substantial working radius. Actual flow will depend on:
- Available inlet pressure
- Incoming pipe diameter
- Feeder-hose and fitting sizes
- Water-gun setting
- Hose condition
- Elevation
- Upstream valves and backflow devices
- The capacity of the site water supply
Large-bore 19mm and 25mm water hoses are specifically promoted for water-treatment works where higher washdown flow is required.
Heavy-Duty Trigger Water Gun
A trigger-operated spray gun is fitted to the hose outlet, allowing the operator to control the water at the point of use.
This provides:
- Immediate local flow control
- Reduced water waste between washdown activities
- More convenient operation than returning to the isolation valve
- Controlled spray during cleaning and rinsing
- A positive hand grip for industrial use
The trigger gun should close when released, but it must not be treated as an isolation device for maintenance or as a form of backflow protection. The incoming ball valve should be closed and the assembly depressurised before work is undertaken.
Powder-Coated Steel F555 Reel
The F555 reel is manufactured from steel with a powder-coated finish.
The open steel construction provides the strength required to support a large-bore 20-metre hose while allowing visual inspection of:
- Hose condition
- Hose winding
- Couplings
- Drum movement
- Feeder hose
- Swivel connection
- Mounting points
The powder-coated finish provides a practical level of surface protection for normal industrial use. It should not, however, be treated as equivalent to stainless-steel construction or a weatherproof enclosure.
For exposed outdoor sites, corrosive environments or locations subject to freezing conditions, the cabinet and heater version will normally be the more appropriate solution.
Typical Applications
The ME Series F555 Wash Water Hose Reel Kit is suitable for appropriately designed washdown points in:
- Water treatment works
- Wastewater and sewage treatment sites
- Pumping stations
- Water-utility depots
- Reservoir and process-water facilities
- Plant and vehicle wash areas
- Factories and manufacturing sites
- Engineering workshops
- Maintenance yards
- Commercial vehicle depots
- Agricultural premises
- Construction and civil-engineering compounds
- Industrial processing areas
- General commercial washdown stations
Water-treatment specialists commonly use large-bore spring-rewind hose reels for site cleaning, maintenance and washdown. The standard fixed-mount version is most appropriate where a sound wall, structural frame or mounting surface is already available.

Installation Requirements
The reel and hose assembly weighs approximately 50kg before the additional forces created by pulling the hose are considered. It must therefore be fixed to a sound structural surface using appropriately selected anchors.
The installer should consider:
- Reel weight
- Dynamic hose-pull forces
- Mounting surface construction
- Direction from which the hose will normally be pulled
- Operator access
- Hose coverage
- Vehicle and machinery movements
- Height of the water gun when stored
- Access to the isolation valve
- Access for maintenance
- Incoming pipe diameter
- Available water pressure
- Drain-down requirements
- Backflow protection
- Frost exposure
The roller or hose-guide position must suit the selected wall, floor or ceiling installation. Pipework should be independently supported and should not place excessive loads on the reel swivel or feeder hose.
Choose the Right ME Series Wash Water Kit
| Version | Installation | Best suited to | Frost protection |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard fixed-mount kit | Mounted directly to a suitable structure | Indoor or sheltered sites with an existing wall or frame | No |
| Pedestal kit | Mounted on a floor-fixed galvanised pedestal | Open areas where no wall is available | Drain-down provision |
| Cabinet and heater kit | Reel enclosed in an insulated cabinet | Exposed utility, water-treatment and outdoor sites | Low-voltage space heater |
The pedestal package adds a pivot bracket and galvanised fluid-path pedestal, while the cabinet version places the reel inside an insulated GRP enclosure with a low-voltage heater for frost protection.
