For durability, during robust handling, the Tsurumi LSC 1.4S puddle sucker flood pump has a pressed steel outer casing and a cast aluminium pump stand, to offer increased protection of the steel and rubber base plate. A combination of a rubber pump chamber and a urethane vortex impeller enables the design to offer excellent wear resistance in site water applications that contain sand and silt in suspension, thus maintaining performance and reliability over time.

An additional feature of the Tsurumi LSC1.4S is an integral swing check valve to prevent back flow of water from the discharge hose. These really are the best puddle pumps that I have ever used. Pricey yes, but last in the long term and do not trip out under silty water conditions. When looking for a puddle pump we always go fort the Tsurumi LSC1.4.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between 110v and 230v?
110v is normally used on construction sites with a transformer or generator. 230v is normally used where standard mains power is available and comes with a 3 pin plug.
What is a puddle pump?

A puddle pump, sometimes called a puddle sucker, is designed to remove shallow standing water from flat surfaces. Unlike a standard drainage pump, which usually leaves a greater depth of water behind, a puddle pump is designed for low-level water removal and final clean-up work.

The Tsurumi LSC1.4S can pump water down to approximately 1mm, making it ideal for clearing nuisance water from floors, slabs, basements, garages, lift shafts and similar flat areas.

Does the pump need to sit in a sump?

No. One of the main benefits of a puddle pump is that it can be placed directly onto a flat surface without needing a sump.

This makes it ideal for areas such as basements, garages, plant rooms, flat roofs, concrete slabs and lift shafts where water is spread across the floor rather than collected in a chamber.

Can this pump handle dirty water?

Yes, it can handle dirty water containing light sand, silt and small suspended particles. The LSC1.4S has a listed free passage of 6mm, so it is suitable for nuisance water, flood water, groundwater and site water where small particles may be present.

It is not suitable for sewage, foul water, heavy sludge, large solids, stones, rags or fibrous material.

What is the difference between a puddle pump and a drainage pump?

A standard drainage pump is normally used to move larger volumes of water quickly, but it will usually leave a certain level of water behind.

A puddle pump is designed for low-level residue removal. It is the better choice when the job is to clear water from a flat surface as completely as possible, such as after flooding, after site works, or during final clean-up.

In simple terms:

Choose a drainage pump for deeper water and fast volume removal.
Choose a puddle pump for shallow water and final clean-up.

Should I choose the 1 inch or 2 inch outlet version?

Both versions use the same pump, but the outlet size affects the hose connection.

The 1 inch version is useful for smaller hose setups, tighter spaces and lighter-duty applications.
The 2 inch version is usually better where you want to move water more quickly, reduce restriction, or use longer hose runs.

For most temporary drainage and flood clean-up applications, layflat hose is a practical option. You may also need hose clips or suitable fittings to secure the hose properly.

If you are unsure, speak to our team before ordering and we can help match the pump to the right hose setup.

Why is the Tsurumi LSC1.4S more expensive than some other puddle pumps?

The LSC1.4S is a professional-grade puddle pump designed for demanding site, hire, flood response and maintenance use. Features such as low-level pumping down to 1mm, robust construction, wear-resistant components, integrated check valve and Tsurumi build quality make it a long-term professional option rather than a basic occasional-use pump.

In addition, Tsurumi pumps come with a 3 year warranty as standard.

For customers who need a pump regularly, or where reliability matters, it is often worth choosing a more durable professional unit.
